Tire Changing

The tires on your vehicle do not wear out evenly. On most vehicles, the tires on the drive shaft wear out considerably faster. By switching the tires from front to rear or vice versa, the tires wear out more evenly. This increases your safety and ensures better stability and traction. We balance your tires after every change to ensure maximum driving comfort.

Why tire changing is so important?

Tire wear can cause dangerous situations on the road.
During unexpected and difficult moments, such as emergency stops or sharp turns, unevenly worn tires  can be dangerous because they provide insufficient grip. Especially on wet surfaces, you should be extra careful. The rear end of your car can then skid faster than the front. By mounting tires with more thread on the rear axle, you have a better road holding and stability.

When can I no longer drive safe on a tire?

If the depth of your tire thread is less than 1.6 millimeter, it should be replaced.  That’s the legal minimum thread depth for all tires. However, we recommend a replacement at a thread of 2 millimeters. We always measure the thread depth before we change the tire. If the thread depth is not satisfactory, we will replace the tire. You can also easily check your tires with a tire profile indicator. Don’t have a tire thread indicator? Than you can measure your thread depth with a coin. Simply place the coin in one of the slots of the tread of your tire. Do you see a section of the coin’s edge? Than you need to have your tires changed.

Why is balancing required after each change?

After each tire change, we balance your tires for maximum driving comfort. This prevents bothersome  vibration on your steering wheel and suspension, which results into uncomfortable driving and can create an unsafe situation. In addition, a balanced tire will last longer, which will save you a lot of money.
